TECHNICAL DESIGN

WOMEN'S SWIMWEAR

During my time at Lands' End, I had the privilege of collaborating with a skilled team dedicated to swimwear design. This experience challenged me to elevate my skills as a designer. At Lands' End, I felt like an integral part of the team rather than just an intern; I was actively engaged in creating tech packs, making pattern alterations, and providing fit feedback. This hands-on involvement allowed me to enhance my abilities in 3D design, a skill the company is eager to further develop.

The highlight of my internship was being invited to extend my stay for an additional two weeks, which speaks volumes about how much they value their interns and the contributions we make.

DESIGN & PATTERN CREATION

WOMEN'S SWIMWEAR

Edgewater Avenue is a sewing pattern business that creates trendy women’s swimwear patterns for all sewing levels.

At 17, I started my own handmade swimwear business using Edgewater Avenue patterns. I was always so inspired by the swimwear pattern making process and wanted to learn as much as I possibly could.

After reaching out to the founder Katie and many emails back in forth. I was offered an internship where I created 2 of my own patterns. Katie has been an amazing mentor. I have learned so many valuable skills from her, like how to draft patterns with negative ease, creating directions that are easy to understand, and she gave me my first introduction into fit testing.

For my Aerie application, I designed a Back-to-School '25 capsule collection that fill gaps in their current line. You can find the tech specs for the "Run Convertible Windbreaker" on pages 22-25.
